The Indian Diaspora STEM work force represents a great opportunity for strengthening our STI ecosystem,/ A variety of platforms and flexible arrangements need to be put in place to facilitate Diaspora STEM professionals to engage with Indian R & D activities, academia, and the private sector for mutual benefit.
Every Indian R & D establishment and University should place online opportunities for NRI/PIO researchers to participate, through various modes – lectures during short visits, R & D information exchanges, R & D collaborations, support to R & D projects, short term visits, and longer term assignments. Alumni data base especially of Ph D students and post docs should be maintained by each institution.
