There many engieers who perform extraodinarily in JAM but are denied admission into IITs and other Institutes for MSc physics/maths. These are passionate about pursuing the science and taking the research path. An engineer with AIR 55 was rejected by all the IITs this year, the rank could get a BSc grad any IIT of choice. We need to make the eligibility criteria liberal. Many people don’t choose engineering with passion, they take it when they are young and uninformed. They should be allowed to pursue their passion in science when they realise it. It’ll only benefit the country to have talented people like these passionately working towards research. So, kindly consider making engieers eligible for pursuing science courses.
